My Trip to Old Quebec and some food pics :)

A panoramic view of the old city :)

I was away on a trip for 4 days in possibly one of the most beautiful places in the world - Old Quebec city. Everything there is so rustic and beautiful, it feels like you're in Europe and I kid you not.

I especially mean it when I say there were THRONGS of tourists in that area but funnily, prices weren't as cut throat as people say they were. Possibly, it could be due to the fact that "cutthroat" means different in where I came from in Malaysia where people actually sell a RM2.50 thing for RM10. Anyway, the old city is the only enclosed castle town of Canada and is definitely worth the visit if you ever come visit Quebec.

it's not real...it's actually a painting on a big wall :)

The town is as old as it is historical as this is the very place where the war between the French and the British took place. French won of course, otherwise, Quebec would have had a very different culture all together. You'll also find a ton of artistic expressions about town as well.

The quaint cobbled road township is made up of centuries old building, many are converted into shops, restaurants and inns while some were maintained as private residences. To live there is to dream because I have a soft spot for old, antique-ish things. When (and not If) I have the money, I will be jet setting everywhere to find old antiques to add to my antique collection...:P

Anyway, I did not take pictures of my every meal in Old Quebec City, mainly because most of my meals aren't exactly inspiring - they were pretty much fish and chips, pates, poutines....hmm, see, i can't even remember most of what I ate. But i did take some pictures of the italian food I had at this quaint little Italian joint around the corner AND gelatos! MANY MANY gelatos served up by this cute looking Italian dude.

Gelato! Man...i wanted to try ALL their flavors but I only tried their pistachio and strawberry gelatos :(

In case you guys wonder, Quebec has got a ton of immigrants...you'll find Italians, Arabs, French, Chinese, Japanese, Koreans (and Caucasians) all over the place.

So here are some food pix:

Empty because it's the "closed" section after lunch hour :P

Pasta in 3-ways: bolognese, fettuccine oleo, and Cappelloni stuffed with parmesan and cheese sauce

Vegetarian pizza with caesar salad

I told you food wasn't as inspiring although the italian food tasted good. Real good in fact. :)

wokandspoon: 6 months ago?! Geez, I wished I knew you earlier then..:) And thanks for the nice comment.

Tigerfish: Yea..the pasta dish was really stuffing, I couldn't finish it. If you ever come to Quebec, give me a holler, the old city is actually prettier than what my lens have shown. :)

Hi Chibi, yes I have tried poutine. I live in Montreal, and La Banquis in Mont Royal is one of the best poutine places in town - which part of Quebec are you at? :)
